Edel McMahon

Masters of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry) from University of Canberra

BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation from St. Mary’s College, Twickenham, London

Edel moved to Bathurst in 2011 with her husband, Brian for a tree change after a secondment to Bathurst Health Service. The pair loved the place so much they decided that Bathurst was the place to raise their young family. Edel emigrated to Australia in 2006 and completed her Masters in Physiotherapy in 2010. Since then she was worked across the private and public sector in acute, sub acute and rehabilitation roles. Her key areas of interest are neurological rehabilitation, cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and pre and post surgical rehabilitation. Edel’s focus is on ensuring her patients are given individual attention with a thorough assessment and treatment plan. Away from the clinic, Edel enjoys spending time with her husband and family and travelling.

Tanya Walsh (previously Tanya Dickerson)

Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy), University of Sydney

Tanya graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997. She has over 20 years working in a variety of tertiary teaching hospitals in Australia, including the Childrens’ Hospital Westmead, the Royal Darwin Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital. Tanya has extensive experience treating both adults and children in the intensive care setting, acute surgical, orthopaedic, neurological and medical wards.

Tanya has over 15 years experience working closely with GPs, Paediatricians and Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons managing babies and young children with a head preference/ torticollis, hip dysplasia, slow to meet developmental milestones (for example not sitting independently at 8 months, not walking independently by 15 months of age), toe walking, posture problems such as bowed legs, pigeon toes.

Tanya has experience in supervising and teaching physiotherapy students for hospital placements from Sydney University, Newcastle University, Macquarie University, Bond University and Charles Sturt University.

In her downtime, Tanya enjoys spending time with her family and walking their dogs.
